If you're here, then it must mean you're thinking about being baptized. Below are some questions you may have about baptism at Thrive.
What is baptism at Thrive?
Baptism is a public declaration of our faith in Jesus. At Thrive, we follow the example of baptizing by immersion.
Who can get baptized?
Adults and teens (6th grade and above) at Thrive who have decided to follow Jesus and are ready to make an outward expression of this decision.
Children 5th grade and below, who are at least 8 years old, please see the Thrive Kids baptism policy linked below for additional requirements and get in touch with Kids Director Shannon Carley (scarley@atThrive.com).
Baptism Policy
In which service will I be baptized?
During the registration process, you will have the opportunity to choose which service you would like to be baptized in.
What am I supposed to wear?
We will give you an awesome baptism t-shirt to wear during your baptism. Please bring a pair of shorts. We also have everything you need if you forget something. Don’t worry about bringing a towel… we’ve got you covered.
What if I have questions about baptism?
One of our pastors would happily meet with you before Baptism Sunday. Please email Contact Us (ContactUs@atThrive.com), and we will follow up. We offer a Baptism Class 4 times a year. The class is not required for adults and teens (6th grade and above) to be baptized, but we do offer it if you want more information.
Children 5th grade and below, who are at least 8 years old, are required to attend the Thrive Kids Baptism class and meet with Kids Director, Shannon Carley in order to be considered for baptism.
I have a set of circumstances that makes baptism challenging for me (for instance, an injury, disability, or other element). Am I able to be baptized?
Yes, yes, yesss! We will work with you to make baptism a great experience. When you complete your baptism registration, tell us your situation, and we will note it for the baptism weekend!
What if I’m out of town or I can’t make it to this next Baptism Sunday?
We would LOVE for you to be part of our baptism weekend, but we understand if you cannot be here! We have 4 Baptism Sundays a year. There will be another one soon.
